THINK ABOUT IT 10-14-23
As my family knows, I set aside the last hour before bedtime to focus on the Lord. I do so by reading the Bible, praying, and listening to music. That time of the day might not work best for you but it works for me.
I’ve been listening to some hymns that are hundreds of years old, and I’ve discover many that I never heard before. It is a welcome break from the idea that a song must be loud and fast to be good. I suspect that many wouldn’t like them and that they wouldn’t be popular in most churches today. But they bless me.
I’m not suggesting that churches shouldn’t sing anything else, nor would I criticize them if they did. I’m simply saying that some folks don’t know what they’re missing. There are thousands of hymns that can be read or heard that provides great blessings. If want to experience what I’m talking about you can find some examples on YOU TUBE, by searching for”Hymnology”. There are four seasons of it. Naturally there are numerous other hymns you can hear, but I enjoyed watching these.
I’m talking about worship, not entertainment. If you decide to check it out and like it let me know. Think about it! – HDS
